"Fabrizio, Words cannot describe
how thankful I am that we hired your services for our recent trip! It
was such a pleasure to have someone as friendly and knowledgeable as you
and your staff show us so many of the major sights as well as ones that
were "off the beaten path". You always had a smile on your face
and worked with us so effortlessly with our wants and needs that there
was nothing for us to think about except what to order for lunch or what
ELSE to buy! So many of my favorite memories will certainly be of the
things we saw and did during the day tours with your company.I will not
hesitate to recommend your services to others and look forward to seeing
you again some day myself on another adventure in Italy! Ciao!"

Here is our 8-hour excursion to explore the major Medieval
villages in the region of Umbria. It is considered to be an
important destination because of its scenic beauty, artistic
traditions and cultural heritage.

The driver will pick you up at your hotel
in Rome and take you to Orvieto. It is a testament to
the Renaissance and Medieval periods.
Once an Etruscan fortress, Orvieto is home to an excellent
Etruscan Museum as well as a
spectacular Duomo. It's also a favorite papal retreat
due to its proximity to Rome. Orvieto enjoys a spectacular
360 degree view of the Umbrian hills
and valleys.
Because of its location, Orvieto was the ultimate protected
refuge in times of siege. The
enchanting city is situated close to the border with
the Lazio region. Your tour-manager will make a
stop in front of the major attraction, namely the charming
walled hill town and its Cathedral of
Orvieto. Many people believe that this Duomo is the
most beautiful church in all of Italy. This is
due to its splendid and decorative facade built in the
Gothic style. The greatness of this area's
cultural and artistic heritage are complemented by the
delicious specialties of the local cuisine.
Of course, Orvieto Bianco is one of the finest of the
Umbrian wines. In fact, you'll make a stop for
lunch* right in the
piazza where you can enjoy an interesting combination
of several types of truffles and cheeses
while indulging in a glass of Orvieto Classico house
wine. You will notice that this picturesque
citadel boasts the famous hand-painted Majolica pottery.
Every piece in the building is a work of
art made by countless masters. We'll then drive to the
Medieval city of Todi. It was probably
founded by the Umbrian citizens of Veio. The ancient
city of Todi was influenced by the Etruscans,
and later became Romanized during the mid-4th century
BC. You will admire the major highlights of this historical
town, including the Temple of Santa Maria della Consolazione
and the temple dedicated to
S. Maria dell' Annunziata. The Church of
San Fortunato has a most elegant bell tower.
Sightseeing will continue on our way
back to Rome.
The excursion is
for a party of up to 14 people.
It includes private car transfers and a fluent, English
speaking driver-guide.
DRVING TIMES:
From Rome to Todi takes 1 hour and 40
minutes. To Orvieto takes 40 minutes.
