"Fabrizio, when my husband
suggested he hire a guide for our 20 year anniversary trip to Rome, I
was concerned the trip would be less romantic with a guide. Was I ever
wrong. Having you as our guide for most of the week was great. Heres
why:
1)You stopped for lunch at restaurants with a cozy table for two with
spectacular views, amazing food, and perfect service.
2)You took us to interesting places every day. Your knowledge of history
was impressive and you are an entertaining story-teller. We loved your
humor. You even took us to a few great shops so we didnt waste time
trying to decide where to do our Italian shopping.
3)With you driving, my husband and I could relax and focus on each other
during our tours and not be stressed by driving and navigating through
Rome and surroundings.
4)The way you timed the driving/lunch/sites, we still had enough energy
to have romantic evenings.
5) Because my brilliant husband hired you as our guide to Rome, he gave
me the most romantic and perfect 20 year anniversary trip that any woman
could want and so, as always, he continues to be my hero"

This is a 9-hour excursion to marvel at the natural
beauty of Tuscany's villages of Pienza and Montalcino.
|
 |
|
The car will pick you up at your hotel in Rome and transfer
you to the small town of Pienza.
It is one of the most interesting in Tuscany from an
urbanistic and historical point of view. It was
designed and built in a remarkable three years by the
Renaissance architect, Bernardo Rossellino. It
was under the commission of Enea Silvio Piccolomini,
who in 1458, became known in the ecclesiastical
state as Pope Pius II. Today, the village of Pienza
is considered to be a rare example of town
planning. This concept was in accordance with the Renaissance
philosophy and it is magnificently
located on a silent hilltop with spectacular views.
After wandering in this charming village, our
next stop will be Montalcino, only thirty minutes away.
This village is a delightful little walled
town, beautifully situated above vines and olive groves.
It is famed for its red wine, Brunello, one of the choicest
in Tuscany. After having lunch* in
a characteristic Tuscan trattoria, your lecturer-guide
will spend the rest of the day showing you
stunning scenery, quaint settings and breathtaking vistas.
You will come to understand that these
are all part of what make Tuscany one of Europe's premiere
destinations.
This excursion is
for a party of up to 14 people.
It includes private car transfers and a fluent,
English speaking driver-guide.
DRIVING TIMES:
From Rome to Pienza takes 1 hour and 30
minutes. To Montalcino takes 30 minutes.
Return to Rome in 2 hours.
