The car will pick you up at your hotel in
Rome and drive you to Naples. Naples is one of the
most picturesque areas with a unique and friendly ambience.
Greeks founded the city of Naples in the
7th century BC, and their ancient designs have survived
until now. Naples is the third largest city
in Italy and situated in one of the loveliest natural
settings in all of Europe. It lies in the
center of the great Bay with nice views of the Isles
of Capri and Ischia, the major islands in the Gulf.
The city is endowed with superb monuments illustrating
the area's heritage. There are
extraordinary works of artistic collections as well
as a variety of panoramic views. Mild weather
and gentle breezes constitute other reasons for visitors
to be drawn here from all over the world.
Our first destination will be the old district in town
where the living quarters have survived
many fires, air raids and earthquakes. Then, you'll
have the opportunity to choose to explore major
highlights including the Castel Nuovo, and the Palazzo
Reale built by Domenico Fontana. Other
choices include Teatro San Carlo, considered to be the
celebrated 'temple of opera' and the magnificent
National Archeological Museum. The Museo and Gallerie
Capodimonte are where the richest and
most significant ceramic collections in Italy are displayed.
Of course, there are several fine
churches to visit.
Your driver-guide will also suggest a typical Neapolitan
restaurant* where you'll be able to
taste the best pizza and exquisite specialties of Italian
cuisine.
We'll depart Naples and head back
to Rome in the afternoon.
