Your car will pick you up at the hotel
in Florence and transfer you to Siena, the hypnotic
hill town. It is steeped in history and culture as proven
by its monuments, churches and palazzos.
The glorious city of Siena probably had its origin as
a Roman military colony. One of the many points of interest
is the Piazza del Campo. This is the location where
the great horse race, the Palio, has been held since
Medieval time. Also, the lovely Dome was designed and
constructed in the Romantic-Gothic style between the
12th and 13th centuries.
We'll then drive to the Chianti region with its great
climate, finest wines, flavorful olive oils and spectacular
panoramas.
Once you arrive at the hilltop towns, you'll take in
each one's lovely views over the wine estates and wooded
hills. Of course, we'll stop to sample the fine wines
and enjoy the authentic, delicious Tuscan food in a
carefully selected restaurant.
It is here that you will explore castles, some of which
host highly regarded wineries. Others
can be found within dense forests. There will be country
churches where you'll discover remarkable
works of art. Sightseeing will continue on the way
back to Florence.
