The driving tour begins on Capri, where
your local driver-guide will pick you up at Marina
Grande, the main dock of the Isle. The driver will hold up a sign with your name as a means of identification.
Capri is famous in Italy as one of the most
prestigious and precious locales in the Tyrrhenian
Sea. It is also a celebrated and frequently visited resort by people from around the world. After
you have enjoyed memorable hidden sceneries, your first stop will be in Anacapri. It is known by the
local residents as the ideal place to experience both lush and beautiful landscapes along with fine food. For centuries, this region has been highly
regarded as a gastronomic capital.
You'll then reach Monte Solaro, the highest spot on Capri. There you will gaze down upon
stunning and sweeping views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the famous Bay of Naples.
The Isle of Capri is a miniature paradise with its luxuriant vegetation growing along side of
interesting rock formations. There are many enchanting areas, including villas.
One that constitutes
a source of fascination is the Villa Jovis, known as the home of the Emperor Tiberius. The
Blue Grotto will be our next stop. You will have the opportunity to explore this magically
illuminated cave. After light enters the cave,
it is reflected as an inimitable and
remarkable blue color. It will be as appealing to you as it was to the ancient Romans. It is
believed that the Blue Grotto was so fascinating, that it may have been used as a temple of sorts.
Your guide will show you how to reach the cave's tiny entrance. Once there, you will climb
into a small rowboat and be taken inside. It is an experience like no other and should not be missed.
You will have a delicious lunch in a seaside restaurant with an incomparable view out to the
water. You will quickly learn that Caprese cuisine is one of the most exquisite in Italy.
Your convertible
car will be at your disposal to take you to an area of fine shopping. One such place is
Capri's Piazzetta, a charming street lined with busy and exclusive shops, as well as wonderful
outdoor cafes to enjoy delicious gelato and a fine cup of espresso.
